We´ve had a couple of lovely days in Buenos Aires soaking up the atmosphere, and are about to
take a 20 hour bus journey to Salta in North West Argentina where we´ll begin our journey over the Andes. Salta is at 1200m and our proposed route will take us about 10 days and see us crossing into Chile at about 4200m!! Likely to experience some oxygen deprivation ....... even without the cycling exertion. Must try chewing some of the local leaves that the international community seem to get a bit upset about - apparently they´ll help us cope a bit with the extertion and altitude.
hi guys, the photo says it all. I would kike to be a fly on the wall when you cross the Atacama desert. hopefully there will be a posting about it. Rosie was fed by zinah on the Monday and we have driven past the house yesterday (sunday) so it is still standing

ReplyDeleteHope you had a great christmas on the luxury bus- we toasted you both on the 25th and miss you alot. I keep calling people Michelle- you are always on my mind.
Hope you are fully recovered from the long journey- now the hard work really begins- I am sure your enthusiasm and sheer courage will see you through the difficult parts of your adventure.
I sent a message earlier but I don't think it registered -you know I am a luddite!! Have read a few books what about you?

Hopefully in a few days - or so ..... Lovely chilled vibe here in Purmamaca. You would like Buenos Aires. Very political people. Loads of wall murals and slogans etc.
